Andorra, 2015
Andorra 2 Euro 2015 – Coat of Arms
Bi-metallic coin with a gold-coloured inner disc and silver-coloured outer ring. The obverse displays the quartered coat of arms of Andorra surrounded by the motto 'VIRTUS UNITA FORTIOR', with 'ANDORRA' and '2015' inscribed to the right. Twelve stars encircle the outer ring. The reverse bears the standard eurozone design: the numeral '2' alongside a map of Europe and the inscription 'EURO'.
Andorra adopted the euro as its official currency following a monetary agreement with the European Union, with euro coins issued from 2014. As a small co-principality governed jointly by the Bishop of Urgell and the President of France, Andorra was long a monetary associate of its neighbours before formalising its relationship with the eurozone. The national coat of arms, which incorporates symbols of the four co-princes who historically governed Andorra, has appeared on all Andorran euro coin obverses.
